My son is attending college in Buffalo and drives a Toyota Prius. I received a call from him to let me know there were a couple of warning lights on the dash and he was concerned about driving the vehicle before we knew what the issue was. Called Northtowne and spoke with a 'Christine' in service. When I asked if he could bring the car in for diagnosis, I asked what the cost would be. I was placed on hold and when she picked up again, I was informed the cost would be "$140 and up; but the minimum cost would be $140"....Im not sure how they price their work, or where the outrageous analysis cost is derived, but it sounds like you should hand over a blank check before they get started.
